It is a service offered by DOHMS to the expatriates when they need to send the corpse to their native country
Goals
This service aims at getting the corpse to the destination in such a way that it is kept sterilized and protected against decomposition for a week from the date of embalment until it reaches the destination.
How to get the service
Embalment is conducted after the aquiring the following legal documents:
- The original death certificate authenticated from the preventative medicine
- A formal letter from Dubai police indicating their acceptance, addressed to the manager of the basic health care.
- An acceptance letter from the consulate or the embassy of the deceased and the destination to which the corpse will be sent.
- The cancellation of the deceased’s passport from the consulate of his country.
- The cancellation of the deceased’s visa with the knowledge of the immigration services.
- Issuing air tickets after determining the schedule of the flight and departure time.
- Purchasing the coffin according to the size of the corpse.
Fees
Depositing an amount of 1000 dirhams in the account of Al Mktoum’s health center and getting the receipt. A copy of the receipt should be enclosed with authentication certificate for the embalment.
