| 1) Rashid Hospital
It provides a 24 hrs service to all types of patients especially major trauma, surgical and psychiatric cases.
Procedures The patients seen in Accident & Emergency are usually divided in two categories:
The patient with conditions of emergency in nature are treated or referred to the specific specialty.
Those who are not considered as emergency are referred to walk-in clinic (WIC) system, which runs round the clock.
Rules regulations Only emergency cases are being seen in Accident and Emergency free of charge. All non-urgent cases are directed to go back to Peripheral Health Centers to be treated there or to be seen in Walk In Clinic.
Walk In Clinic is open daily from 5.00.pm. to 12.00. midnight and on Thursday, Fridays, Public Holidays one extra session of Walk In Clinic from 8.30.am. to 12.00.pm. against fees.
Patients are charged for treatment:
- 50 DHs for valid health card.
- 200 DHS for invalid health card or those who do not have a DOHMS health-card

4) Al Wasl Hospital
Al-Wasl Hospital Emergency Department provides 24-hours services, 7 days a week, to children and women. Children up to 12 years old including medical and surgical and non-trauma cases, and women with acute problems related to pregnancy or gynaecology. It also provides short stay for and patients in two wards allocated for this purpose. Included in the Emergency Departments is a Walk in Clinic that provides services after clinics hours for the above patient.
Procedures
- The nurse assesses the patient, prioritizes them according her/his condition, and gives a color code reflecting the urgency of the case.
- If the patient's condition is obviously very sick or in a condition of an acute emergency, the patient is immediately taken to the resuscitation room or to the labor room in the Emergency department. The patient will receive immediate care from the medical and nursing staff.
- If the condition has no apparent signs of acute emergency, the patient is then directed to the registration counter.
- The Emergency registration clerk will register the patient in the computer and will require the patient's DOHMS Health card
Rules regulations Trauma and orthopedic casualties are not treated in Al Wasl Hospital Emergency Department.
Fees Fees are applicable for non emergency cases
- Dhs 50.00 for patients holding valid DOHMS health card
- Dhs 200.00 for patient having invalid DOHMS health card or without health card.
