| The Endocrinology Unit of the department of Health & medical services was established to provide a venue for the investigational, teaching & clinical activities to deal with large number of people who suffer from hormonal dysfunction and diseases involving the endocrine glands. |

Services:
- The Endocrinology Unit deals with patients who suffer from disease that affects special glands in our bodies called the endocrine glands, whether as inpatients or through referrals to our outpatients clinic. Some patients need admission to the hospital for diagnostic laboratory testing that requires frequent blood sampling, as well as to be kept under observation.
- The other important mission of the unit is to teach students the concept of endocrine & metabolic physiology & path physiology, and to teach the clinical skills that turn medicine into an art as well as a science.
- To provide the facilities and opportunities for physicians to maintain and improve their skills and knowledge base in endocrine physiology and diseases and to monitor their performance.
- The Endocrinology Unit’s team is about to establish a monthly endocrine clinic to deal with the endocrine disorder frequently encountered in thalassemic patients.
- This is going to be located in Thalassimia Center of the Department of Health in Al- Wasel Hospital.
- The unit contributes in the national & international associations and societies.
