- Receiving donors at DBDC premises.
Donor Care & Referral
- Review donor medical records and testing results.
- Notify donor about abnormal testing results and refer him/her to a GP for counseling.
- Generate bar-coded donor cards.
Whole Blood Collection & Platelets Apheresis
- Daily collection of donor Whole Blood within DBDC and outside campaigns.
- Daily collection of donor platelets (Platelets Apheresis) within DBDC.
Blood Processing to Blood Products
- Preparation of blood components including; Whole Blood, Leukoreduced Packed Red Blood Cells (PRBCs), Fresh Frozen Plasma, Platelets and Cryoprecipitate.
Screening of Donor Blood
- Donor screening for HIV, HBsAg, HBcAb, HCV, HTLV, SYPHILIS. Nucleic Acid Testing (NAT) for HIV, HBV and HCV.
Blood Components Storage/Dispatching
- Recording blood components requests and supplying to maintain the inventory.
- Transfer blood to different health facilities.
The provision of unique laboratory testing for patients includes:
- Quantitative PCR Testing (viral load) of patients' blood samples for HIV, HBV and HCV.
- Western Blot confirmatory test for HIV, HBV and HCV.
- HIV, HBV and HCV Nucleic Acid Tasting.
